About this edition
Michael Soprano was the course instructor for the Master’s Degree in Management Engineering at the University of Udine. The course comprised 24 lectures (48 hours); assessment was based on a full-stack project and discussion.
Programme
The programme presented at the beginning of this edition included:
- The Web and HTTP: browsers, servers and standards; resources and their identifiers; client-server communication, HTTP methods, status codes and headers; practical work with cURL and Postman.
- HTML and CSS: document structure, forms and media; selectors, the cascade, the box model and modern layout techniques.
- JavaScript: programming basics, the DOM, events and asynchronous requests.
- Backend development: Node.js and Express.js routing and middleware; RESTful APIs and data persistence with SQLite.
The final lecture brought the frontend, backend and storage themes together in a full-stack application. The course overview provides the broader context. The lecture slides for this year are not published on the site.
